Deposit & Final payment
A deposit of $200 per person per tour is required at time of booking. This deposit is 50% refundable. The deposit forms part of your final payment which is due 45 days prior to departure. If we do not receive final payment by the specified date, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation. In the case of billing errors, we reserve the right to re-invoice with correct pricing.
Credit cards
We accept major credit cards (Visa, Master Card and American Express). Credit card charges require (certain) DETAILED information and will be processed only upon submission of a completed Credit Card Authorization Form.
Returned checks
A fee of $30 will be charged for any returned checks.
Revision fee
A Revision fee of $30 per transaction WILL BE CHARGED TO COVER revisions OR AMENDMENT TO BOOKINGS. A change of tour date or tour itinerary within 45 days of departure will be treated as a cancellation and new booking; regular cancellation fees apply.
Escorted Tours:

45-31 days prior: 35% of total price
30-15 days prior: 50% of total price
14-0 day(s) prior: 100% of total price
“Departure day” is considered the date Splendors of Italy services begin.
Cancellation charges apply to extra nights prior to and after the tour. Optional tours cannot be refunded after purchase.
If Splendors of Italy cancels a tour, we will re-book passengers on the same tour with a different departure date or a similar tour. All re-bookings are subject to availability. If that tour is unacceptable, Splendors of Italy will refund all FEE’S paid to Splendors of Italy; there is no additional liability. WE cannot assume responsibility for any additional costs or fees relating to the issuance and/or cancellation of air tickets or other travel arrangements not made through Splendors of Italy.
Insurance
Splendors of Italy strongly recommends insurance to cover cancellation charges, trip interruption, and accident and baggage loss. Splendors of Italy accept no responsibility for damage or loss of baggage or other personal property.
Refunds for unused services
No refunds will be made for unused services once travel arrangements have commenced.
Service inquiries after the tour
If after returning from the tour you wish to inquire about any tour services provided, please ensure that all correspondence relating to those services is received Splendors of Italy within 30 days after the tour completion date.
Passports & visas
A valid passport is required of all tour participants. It must be valid six months after date of return.
Non-US citizens must consult with the appropriate consulates to determine if any visas are needed. All passengers, regardless of the passport they hold, should check with the appropriate consulates to determine if any visas are needed. Securing any needed visas is the responsibility of the tour participant.
Tour membership
In order to ensure congenial membership, Splendors of Italy reserves the right to accept or reject any person as a tour participant and to expel from the tour any participant whose conduct is deemed incompatible with the interests of the tour group.
Health requirements
Tour members should check with the consulates and/or the local health boards for the latest health requirements.
Travelers who need special assistance
Any disability requiring special attention must be reported to Splendors of Italy at the time of booking. Splendors of Italy will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the special needs of disabled tour participants, but is not responsible for any denial of services by carriers, hotels, lodges, restaurants, or other independent suppliers, nor any additional expenses incurred. Motor coaches and minibuses are not equipped with wheelchair ramps. We regret we cannot provide individual assistance to a tour member for walking, dining, getting on/off motor coaches and other transportation vehicles, or other personal needs. Travelers who need assistance must be accompanied by a qualified and physically able companion. Motorized scooters are unsuitable for touring.
YOUTH tour participants
Tour participants under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult. On escorted tours, we do not accept children under the age of 8 years old. Accompanying adults are responsible for the safety of their children, including to provide any necessary safety equipment (such as infant/ child seat) where appropriate.
Program Prices
Program prices are per person, based on two persons sharing a room. Single room supplements are listed where applicable. All prices are based on rates (including foreign exchange rates) known at time of printing and expected to be in effect at departure. Prices, including taxes and fees, are subject to increase without notice if such rates change prior to departure.
Accommodations
The hotels listed in this brochure will be used on almost all departures. If a change becomes necessary for any reason, hotels substituted will be similar to those shown. While every effort is made to reserve only twin-bedded rooms, it may occasionally happen that a hotel provides some double-bedded rooms instead. These rooms will be allocated to couples. Please note it is standard policy that hotel rooms are available for check-in after 3 p.m. Early hotel check-in requires a pre-night be booked and paid for.
Private bath & single rooms: In exceptional cases where private bath or single rooms are not available, refunds are made by the Tour Director. Claims made in this respect cannot be accepted after the tour.
Air-conditioning
Although available at most 4 and 5 star hotels, conditions and use of air-conditioning abroad differs greatly from the United States. Many European hotels were built before central air-conditioning was introduced. Air-conditioning is often shut down at night and operated based on regulations and dates released by town hall for emissions and pollution.
Meals on tour
As specified in each itinerary. Meals are based on the hotel’s or restaurant’s buffet or set menu. In general, beverages are not included, unless specifically stated.
Transfers
Transfers are provided as indicated for each tour by car, minibus, or motor coach. If you deviate from the arrival and/or departure dates as stated in the itinerary, you may purchase the transfer service prior to your final tour payment date. Your arrival transfer is guaranteed for up to one hour from your scheduled arrival time in order to compensate for minor delays. Splendors of Italy will not be responsible for flight delays, for any reason, beyond one hour from your originally scheduled arrival time. In case of a delay, whether due to flight delay or time spent reporting baggage damage or loss, it will be your responsibility to make other transfer arrangements such as a taxi. Transfer costs are not refundable and any additional expenses will be your responsibility.
Smoking
Smoking is not allowed on motor coaches or minibuses.
Holidays
During local or national holidays, certain facilities such as museums and restaurants, sightseeing tours and shopping may be limited or not available. Alternatives will be offered whenever possible.
Baggage
Porterage for one suitcase is included in tour price not exceeding 30″ x 21″ x 11″ and weight not exceeding 50 lbs. We regret we are unable to accept a second suitcase or any luggage exceeding these limits. Most airlines impose a weight and size restriction on baggage and will charge additional fees if these restrictions are exceeded. Please check with the applicable airline(s) regarding airline baggage allowances for your vacation program.
Not included in program price
Passports; visas; tips to your Tour Director, tour driver, and local city guides; laundry, beverages, food not on the regular menu (these extra items will be billed to you before leaving the hotel or restaurant); optional excursions; and other items of a personal nature.

Photographs show places in geographic areas, but are not necessarily included in the tour. Maps shown on the tour pages are for general information and may not accurately reflect actual routings.
Safety
Please be aware that during your participation in tours operated by Splendors of Italy certain risks and dangers may arise beyond our control including, but not limited to, the hazards of traveling in undeveloped areas; travel by boat, train, automobile, aircraft or other means of transportation; the forces of nature, political unrest and accident or illness in remote regions without means of rapid evacuation or medical facilities. Splendors of Italy will not have liability regarding provision of medical care or the adequacy of any care that may be rendered. It is understood that Splendors of Italy will use its best efforts to ensure that adequate measures are taken.
Responsibility *** Important ***
Splendors of Italy and/or its agents act only in the capacity of agent for the passengers in all matters pertaining to the tour, whether by plane, rail, motor coach, ferry, cruise ship or any other means of conveyance. They shall not be liable for any injury, damage or loss caused by neglect or default of any company or person engaged in conveying the tour, or any hotel proprietor or other person supplying services or material in connection with the tour. Splendors of Italy reserves the right to withdraw a tour, refuse to accept or retain any person as a member of a tour at any time, or to make changes in the published itinerary, whenever in their sole judgment conditions warrant or if they deem it necessary for the comfort, convenience or safety of the passengers. All prices are based on tariffs in effect at the same time of publication of this manual, and are subject to reconfirmation at the time of booking. Refunds for any portion of the tours not taken will be made by the operator on the cancelled portion, less the expenses incurred in the handling. All requests for refund of unused services, etc. must be sent to Splendors of Italy, in writing, no later than 30 days after completion of relevant program. Splendors of Italy shall be released from any liability under the guarantee to such participant who does not file a timely claim.
