Our Morning starts with a guided tour of the Vatican, St. Peter’s Basilica, built over the tomb of St. Peter. The tour also includes Piazza Venezia, Roman Forum, and stop at the Colosseum. Afternoon is at leisure. Tonight dinner is on your own. (B)
Today we depart for Florence. We drive through the Tuscan & Umbrian countryside before reaching Assisi the town of St. Francis. Stop to visit the tomb of St. Francis and Basilica, decorated with fine paintings by Giotto and Cimabue. In the afternoon continue to Florence through the Tuscan hills and country side. Morning guided tour of Florence including the the Accademia museum to admire Michelangelo’s original “David” statue, Santa Maria del Fiore, “Gates of Paradise” doors, Signoria and Santa Croce square. Free time to shop ad explore on your own. (B,D)
Morning departure for Venice, stop in Modena for a balsamic vinegar tasting session & lunch including local specialties. In the afternoon arrive in Venice, check in at your hotel. (B/L)
